Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26 1991) better known by her professionally-known title Ari Lennox is an American artist and songwriter hailing who hails from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be signed to J. Cole's label Dreamville Records. She released her first EP on the label on October 21 2016 titled Pho where she was able to begin gaining attention. Her first studio album Shea Butter Baby was released on May 7, 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading songs to the Internet in 2012, when she released her first mixtape, Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. She continued to make music available on the web, including her own released single Bound. The song was included in Omen's Elephant Eyes as well as at Sweat It out on 21 July 2015. J. Cole asked her to be a part of his collaboration on Rihanna's reference. Later in the period, she released music that was circulating around Dreamville. It was announced on December 8th, that she'd made an agreement with Dreamville Records. Backseat is a track that which she co-wrote together with Cozz on her Revenge of the Dreamers II album that they co-produced. On the 21st of October in 2016, she debuted her first EP called Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change song, and performed on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. The singer also performed on the songs Nothing but the Best by EarthGang and Icarus alongside Bas the label's co-founders. Ari Lennox debuted her first single from Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on July 16, 2018. A music video later released in September. In November, she dropped the singles 40 Shades of Choke & Grampa. In November, she released 13 two singles that were titled One and Pedigree. One and Pedigree. The singer appeared alongside Cole on The Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby in November 16, and then she released the song as a solo single for the album she released her debut. The track was supported by a music video that was released on February 20, 2019 and reached 3 million views on YouTube within just a week. In December of 2018 the singer was a part of The From East Atlanta With Love Tour featuring 6LACK.
